Relic Sword of the “Battles of Meeanee & Hyderabad”



18thC

Length:31 cm Weight:400gms

 

Obviously recovered from one of the battlefields of Sindh conquest, where the British, under Napier, fought the Talpur Amirs of Sindh, in 1843. The sword is of high quality with gold inlaid script on the blade, and a deep engraved brass handle. It is stamped “MEEANEE 11TH FEBUARY 1843” and “ HYDERABAD 24TH MARCH 1843” the two major battles.
